San Diego Fertility Home
The fertility treatment of many causes of infertility revolves around a concept to increase cycle fecundity. Cycle fecundity is the likelihood of a pregnancy resulting in any given menstrual cycle. Treatments that increase cycle fecundity can be applied to a multitude of pathologic conditions. These treatments accelerate the "fertility curve" and may improve the otherwise protracted curve of patients with unexplained infertility. Take a look at the various treatment guides at San Diego Fertility Center.

Non-regional Gestational Surrogacy Program

If you do not live in the San Diego, California area but feel that gestational surrogacy may be a treatment option for you, SDFC has had extensive experience providing this treatment "long distance". We have a nurse practitioner who will coordinate your medical care and time of surrogacy treatment at San Diego Fertility Center.

Our IVF/ Surrogacy Program

Below are the primary steps involved if you are considering our IVF/ Surrogacy program.

1. Gestational surrogate selection. A gestational surrogate may be a family member, friend, or woman chosen through a surrogate agency.

2. Psychological counseling. All involved parties must participate in psychological counseling. This is an extremely important requirement as it gives everyone an opportunity to discuss a number of vital and sensitive issues. A psychological clearance letter must be on file for each person involved before the cycle can begins.

3. Legal Matters. All necessary contracts must be created by your legal counsel; a legal clearance letter must be sent to our office prior to the start of the cycle.

4. Consultation with Dr. Hummel or Dr. Kettel. Both the surrogate and the intended parents must meet with Dr. Hummel or Dr. Kettel. Information concerning specific testing required for all parties will be given at this appointment. To schedule an appointment, call 858-794-6363 or fill out our online request form.

5. After our office has received all the appropriate clearance letters and test results, we will make arrangements to begin the medication for the IVF/ surrogate cycle.
